Homemade Skin Care: Nothing looks more beautiful than clean, healthy skin.  Using things that come from the earth just feel good on your skin, and give your skin that smooth, natural glow. Let me share some of my favorite skin care recipes and tips. Use these at your own discretion.

Sugar and Olive Oil Foot Scrub

  • 1/4 cup  olive oil, any kind works
  • 1/3 cup sugar

Mix together to form a paste. Moisten feet and hands, scrub thoroughly, rinse and wash skin with any liquid soap, rinse and dry. Store in tightly covered container, stir to re-blend as needed.

Honey Facial Cleanser, oily skin

  • 1 tsp powdered skim milk
  • 1 tsp honey
  • A few drops of apple cider vinegar

Mix the ingredients in a bowl. Rub lightly onto skin in a circular motion for about 2 minutes. Rinse with warm water and a washcloth.

Almond Honey Facial Cleanser, dry skin

  • 1 tsp almond oil
  • 2 tbsps whole milk
  • 1 tsp honey

Mix the ingredients in a bowl. Rub lightly onto skin in a circular motion for about 2 minutes. Rinse with warm water and a washcloth.

Oatmeal Facial Scrub

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp granulated white sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp almond oil
  • 1 tbsp ground oatmeal
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Combine the ingredients, apply to face and scrub lightly for 2-3 minutes. Rinse well with cool water.

Olive Oil and Apple Facial Scrub

  • 1 tbsp granulated white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons applesauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Combine the ingredients and apply to face. Scrub for about a minute and rinse well. Don’t let the olive oil put you off. Most products have oil in them.

Soothing bath soak

  • 2 cups of epsom salt
  • 3 drops of eucalyptus oil
  • 3 drops of rosemary essential oil

Combine ingredients and pour into the stream of warm running water as the tub fills. Enjoy your soak!
