Categories for a coupon binder can vary from person to person.  If you are heading toward the "Team Binder" way of organizing your coupons, you may be wondering what type of  categories would be best for you.  Here is a listing of the way I, Wizard Melissa, categorize coupons in my binder.  I try to get them categorized so that I can quickly and easily flip to the section of where they are when I am matching them up to a store flyer or store matchups on the Coupon Wizard's Website. I start … [Read more...]

Why I Switched Coupon Teams

From the time I started couponing, I was always a binder girl. Each week I opened my inserts, flipped through them, and lovingly clipped my coupons and put them on display in my binder. I always did it after my daughter was in bed while watching tv so it never seemed like it was really time consuming. I had tried to go hybrid a few months ago - clipping only what I needed/used and filing the rest, but I'd find I missed coupons that way. So I went back to clipping all of them. It took FOREVER. … [Read more...]

What do I do with all these loose coupons??

Since there was a two week break where we didn't get coupons in our newspaper, I found myself printing out a lot more coupons off the internet instead. Maybe it was withdrawal, maybe there were just actually better coupons online. It has been almost a year since I started *seriously* couponing. By that I mean actually looking at matchups and websites for deals rather than just clipping a few coupons and throwing them in my purse. It got me thinking about the first deal that got me hooked. It was for a nail polish at Rite Aid. There was a printable BOGO coupon and the store was having a BOGO sale (Rite Aid's policy has changed since then and now they do not allow a BOGO coupon with a BOGO sale). From talking to fellow … [Read more...]

Getting Your Coupons and Inserts Organized Doesn’t Have to Make YOU Insane!

The world of couponing can be daunting.  Trust me, I am not a very organized person in my personal life, and when I first began getting my coupon inserts, I just stared at them.  Inserts with hundreds of coupons?  How do I start? What do I need? For a while I had stacks of inserts all over my dining room table.  Insert Insanity was all too real in my house! I think I went a little insane trying to figure out the right way to go about getting all my inserts put somewhere in a manner that I … [Read more...]

How Wizard Lauren organizes coupons

We all organize our coupons a little differently. And to tell the truth, my method has changed about four times already in the last 9 months. At first, I tried cutting out every coupon and using a binder. When that one got too full, I got two binders (one for food, and one for health/beauty items). After listening to the webinars and talking to other Wiz Kids, I decided to try a hybrid coupon organization method to save myself time. When I get my inserts I break them down and staple like … [Read more...]
