Cooking saves so much money whether it's for one or a large family and if you're organized you can make some healthy delicious dishes in very little time.   After making stir fried couscous I've discovered I like it even more than stir fried rice. It's faster, you can eat it as is or you can add just about any meat to it and turn it into a meal just like rice.  I added a list of commonly used complex rain carbs it to make it easier for you to compare the nutritional value  so you can decide which would be a better choice for your needs. This recipe has a twist to it. The foundation is half grain and half cauliflower. This means that … [Read more...]

Homemade Chili Pie - I came up with this completely by mistake and it's a keeper to be sure. The plan was to make Tamale Pie but I defrosted my chili starter instead of enchilada sauce. In this case it turned out to be a good thing that I didn't label my container! For this recipe I included 2 cans of chili instead of my chili, well, because I messed up and didn't have a full batch on hand to use. I used left over beef pot roast but any meat will work for this wether it be hamburger, fresh or … [Read more...]
