I can’t believe it! I am debt free! It has taken me a little over 2 years but I did it. Looking back on my financial situation I can’t believe I let myself get into that mess. I had 2 department cards, a finance company loan, and when I found out I was pregnant with my 4th child, I decided that I needed a bigger car and went out and got a car payment. Becoming debt free has been a journey for me but I started small. Couponing was the beginning to me taking control of my finances. No more going … [Read more...]

Saving Big At Kroger  I had big savings at Kroger today. It's that time of year again when the kids are home from school and eating me out of house and home. I have been keeping up on deals for quick meals and snacks to keep them from wiping out my stockpile. Quick meals are easy for lunch time and snacks hold them over until dinner because as us mothers know, as soon as children are done eating they are hungry again. Kroger is running a good deal this week that includes a lot of great items … [Read more...]

Saving On Ground Beef

Saving on ground beef can be hard if  there is not a good sale going on at the time.  Meat is one of those item that usually does not come with a coupon so you have to get creative to find savings. A good sale is the time that I try to buy a whole cow if possible and stock up. My local grocery store was having a good deal on ground beef so I bought six 3 lb family packs. This usually will last my family of six until the store runs the sale again.  That’s a lot of ground beef but there are a few … [Read more...]

Homemade Uncrustables If you are like me with kids, a quick breakfast or snack comes in handy. My kids love PB&J but having to make four sandwiches can slow down a busy morning. When I started my freezer cooking journey I was pleased to find that you can freeze PB&J sandwiches. I leave the crust on my sandwiches because my kids are not picky eaters but you can easily make them look like the store bought Uncrustables by using a sandwich sealer on the sandwiches instead of cutting them in … [Read more...]

How can I get paid on Monday and be broke by Wednesday? I work a full time job so where is the money going? I knew that I was not a millionaire but dang, I should be able to pay my bills and have a little money left over.  I needed to get control of my family’s finances and I needed to do it quick. We were digging ourselves into a hole and borrowing money to fill it up and then doing it all over again. This was not how we wanted to live our lives anymore. I signed up for a budgeting webinar … [Read more...]
