I Rocked the Nexxus Deal at CVS Thanks to Wizard Michele for breaking down the Nexxus deal at CVS for us. I was able to get $63.77 worth of Nexxus products for only $3.94 (excluding tax) and got back $30 in ExtraBucks! That comes out to $0.98 each item! Yay! My Sunday paper had 2 flyers, so if I can get 2 more Nexxus coupons, I may do this deal again. I had $20 in ExtraBucks to begin with from my previous shopping trip. I also had the Magic Coupon Center print (2) $5 Beauty Club … [Read more...]

How Do You Organize the Kitchen?

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

When it comes to organizing the house, one of the toughest challenges is when we have to organize the kitchen, I think. There is just so much that goes in this room that it can be overwhelming, especially if you have a bunch of stuff in there you hardly, if ever, touch. There are the items you received when you got married or moved into your very first place. There’s the stuff you’ve gotten as gifts through the years, hand-me-downs that friends and relatives just KNEW you could use, even though … [Read more...]

Want to See 100 Percent Savings at CVS?

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

I'd like to see 100 percent savings too, but we’ll have to settle for 99.8% ;-) I wasn’t planning on doing any shopping today, but then I got to reading Facebook posts and that 20% off Savings Pass WAS burning a hole in my pocket, so I decided to put a quick trip together. I saw that there was a month-long Nexxus deal going on, and since this product is on my hairdresser’s “passable to use on my hair if I’m not going to buy from him” list (ha ha), I decided to put my deals together and head … [Read more...]

Nearly Free Haul at CVS

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

My Nearly Free Haul I split my CVS trip Sunday into 3 transactions and had a nearly free haul. While they were all accidental, it worked out to be for the best. I did spend an extra $9 on some stretchy headbands because my adorable 4 year old thought it would be awesome to cut bangs into her hair...although they're not quite bangs... they are a mess. First, I went to CVS and forgot the $8 ECB I got from my super stacking trip and the Almay deal. I was just going to leave, but thought I'd roll … [Read more...]

Publix Shopping Trip – End of Month w/ MMs!

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

I did a little shopping yesterday, including a Publix shopping trip, yeah! It’d been so long, I almost forgot how to do this. I’ve run into a store for something here and there, but as far as doing a full shop, coupon/matchup round-up and all, it’s been some time. It came back to me quick though and I was able to put two pretty decent shopping trips together. I saved 86% at Publix and 95% in my CVS shopping trip. All in all, it was a pretty good day. This Publix Shopping Trip picture … [Read more...]

CVS Shopping Trip on Football Sunday (Gasp!)

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

I've been jonesing for a CVS shopping trip and after looking at the CVS Matchup for this week, I knew right where I had to go yesterday, even though it was Football Sunday. I was meaning to do the Revlon deal last week, but just never got around to it so I was happy to see it was still going on. That was a close one! Then I spotted the P&G deal and the Almay eye makeup remover one and started making out my Shopping Spreadsheet. I had $14 in ECBs to use going in, so that certainly cut down on … [Read more...]

Amazing Money Making Shopping Trip to CVS

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

My Amazing Money Making Trip I had an amazing money making shopping trip at CVS last night! I even got an unexpected surprise, which was nice after the confusing shopping trip I had a few nights ago. I went back and returned the Almay eye makeup removers and repurchased. This time I was able to use my $4 off $20 Facial Care CVS coupon since they rang up at the correct price. Paid $17.96, since I was refunded the full amount (which included $8 that I had used in Almay coupons) and got back … [Read more...]

When Shopping Trips Go Bad When shopping trips go bad, sometimes they go REALLY BAD! Ever have one of those shopping trips where you leave wondering, "what the heck just happened?" That was me on Saturday evening when I went to CVS late to try to score Sunday's deals. I had spent all day at a baby shower so I didn't get a chance to prepare my list properly, that was mistake #1. I quickly scanned the ad preview and grabbed my coupons. I had the Almay eye makeup remover and the $10 P&G … [Read more...]

Uncommon Uses for Everyday Items 2

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

Ready for some more uncommon uses for everyday items around the house? Again, my favorite source for these is from my magazine Real Simple. They have all kinds of interesting articles on organizing, time management, cooking, cleaning tips and more. My favorite column though is the one they call "New Uses for Old Things" where they take an everyday household product and give you several other ways of using it. I clip these articles each month and keep them so when I can't think of how to recycle … [Read more...]

Freezer Stockpile Organization

My Freezer Stockpile Organization Our stockpiles are always changing and my freezer stockpile is no exception. I tend to buy the same products regularly so it's easy for me to maintain some sense of organization. I really wanted an upright freezer, but we don't have the space for it right now so we bought a large chest freezer and put it in the laundry room. I knew immediately that I needed freezer baskets to control the chaos. Luckily, 2 plastic milk crates are perfect for the job and very … [Read more...]

CVS Super Coupon Stacking I hit CVS this morning for some super coupon stacking and didn't quite finish my whole trip - there are a few things I have to go back for to get the $10 ECB when you buy $30 of P&G products. But I had coupons that were expiring today and I had a ton of really great CVS ones that printed for me over the weekend that I didn't want to miss. (2) Pampers Cruisers Reg. $11.99, on sale 2/$19 --used $3/2 Pampers, came to $8 per pack (1) Puff's Plus Reg. $1.99, on … [Read more...]

Big Box Trip Miniature Style

My Mini Big Box Trip We have a BJ's membership, but I honestly don't shop there all that much. I did go on this mini big box trip though today. I find a lot of the things to be more expensive there. If you aren't using coupons, sure, they are a great deal. But most of the time with sales and coupons I get better deals elsewhere. There are a few things I do get there that I always find to be cheaper there than anywhere else. (2) 6 packs Progresso soup - $8.99 each used (2) $2 off any 6 pack … [Read more...]

Non-Slip Socks from Regular Socks

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

Change Regular Socks into Non-Slip Socks Having a house with all hardwood and tile floors, the kids definitely need to have non-slip socks. I started making my own after not being able to find non-slip socks in larger sizes as my kids grew. It is super easy and fun, not to mention a lot cheaper than buying slip-proof socks. What you will need for the socks: A bag of  socks (we get them in bulk at Costco) A bottle of nontoxic puffy paint 1. Wash & dry the socks you want to … [Read more...]

Ghoulish Halloween Treats These ghoulish Halloween treats are semi homemade, inexpensive, incredibly easy to make and guaranteed to please a crowd of any size or a child's classroom. The kids will enjoy the spider rings as a bonus treat. You can make the cupcakes yourself or buy chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing like I chose to do.
