Creative Stockpiling When Limited On Space-Part 2 Last week I showed you how we turned an unused "catch all" room into a grocery stockpile and office area. If you missed it, you can read it here! Now, let me tell you how we got creative with our HBA stockpile! I knew I would not be able to keep the HBA stockpile with the groceries, and HBA items are used in the bathroom, so we used some dead space and my husband built some shelves in our walk in closet in our bathroom. This was a very cheap … [Read more...]

What Happened to my Quarterly ExtraBucks?

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

Made a quick run to CVS after dinner last night. We were running low on milk and son was out of his face cream, which was not on sale. Good thing I had ExtraBucks from previous shopping trips and a 20% off coupon to use. I was counting on $9.00 from my Quarterly Bucks to print, but nothing came out of the machine. Turns out my teenage daughter had been there earlier in the day and got them. That's okay, I'm sure the reason it was so high, had to do with her spending. I still ended up doing … [Read more...]

Healthy Alternatives When Cooking

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

We try to eat clean - it's difficult, but we do the best we can. There are so many additives in food products today, it's scary. We have cut all dyes out of anything in this house. It's scary to see that there are refined sugars, processed syrups and dyes out the ying yang in everything - even in our kid's vitamins! You have to do some searching, but once you find a few staples, the process gets easier. I swapped out my kid's Flintstone vitamins (loaded with high fructose corn syrup and … [Read more...]

Winn Dixie Trip And 67% Savings Winn Dixie has some pretty good deals this week including the Mahatma Rice Mix deal. Since my husband and I were heading out to dinner last night, I decided to hit up a few of the deals since it was right on the way home. Keep in mind, we did have to do 5 transactions because of the wording on the Mahatma .75/2 Rice Mix coupon. The coupon states "No more than 1 (one) coupon for the same product in the same transaction" , so I was only able to use 1 per … [Read more...]

Prosciutto Wrapped Shrimp

Prosciutto Wrapped Shrimp make a great appetizer for parties or as the surf in a surf and turf meal. They never last long! I can eat them like candy but I don't. The prosciutto is is just too high in sodium so I limit myself to 3 jumbo or 5 medium. Easy tip to determine prosciutto to shrimp ratio, buy your shrimp first. A sign in the case should tell you how many shrimp you get per pound. -If making as an appetizer I use medium shrimp. 3/4 lb = about 25 shrimp and 8 slices of … [Read more...]

Shaving Cream Easter Eggs     Shaving cream Easter eggs is as simple as it gets. I've tried many different ways to dye Easter eggs through the years and this is the best I've found yet. I didn't have neon food color and they still came out great. Easy to make, easy clean up and very fast!  I covered my pan with plastic wrap for easy clean up and I processed each egg twice for a richer color. If you also want more color, wipe the egg off, do not rinse, then roll in shaving cream again … [Read more...]

Wreaths are a cute way to decorate for the holidays and they are super simple to make! I made this Easter wreath in about 20 minutes! I used a wreath form, some plastic eggs, ribbon, tulle, and a glue gun. Cut (12) 6 inch pieces of tulle and tied them at their center on the form. The push the knots as close together as possible. Pull the ends of the ends of the  tulle forward to create a full bow. Tulle is very easy to fluff and the ends can be trimmed if needed. Using the glue gun, attach … [Read more...]

Had a last minute CVS Shopping Trip last night to finish off the week. Earlier in the week, I had an Almost Free CVS Shopping Trip that included some items that were part of the grocery ExtraBucks promotion. I didn't realize that the Suave Professionals coupons had a "limit of 2 identical coupons allowed in same shopping trip" until I was in line to pay. Luckily, my 11 year-old tagged along with me so that he could rent a movie from the RedBox outside of CVS. I had him hand over one coupon (I … [Read more...]

It's a good week at Rite Aid this week. I haven't been to Rite Aid in quite some time, but I knew that the deal on a few items were too good to pass up. I set out with only $2.00 in UP Rewards. I live about 30 minutes from my closest Rite Aid store, so I knew that I didn't have time to return each day, and roll my UPs. I decided to get everything I was after in one transaction, and then I'll roll that in the weeks to come. After earned UPs, this transaction was just $2.79! Here's the breakdown … [Read more...]

Publix Trip “Mostly” a Success – 95% Savings

Publix Trip from 3/14 My Publix trip from today was mostly a success. I was thrown for a loop on the Totino's Party Pizzas though. Unlike what all the other blogs posted, including ours, the deal down here in South Florida was 4/$5, not 10/$10; boo hiss! This added $3 on to my total that I wasn't prepared for. I thought about not getting them, but I figured, they're not going to get any cheaper down here, we were out and I needed them for my total to reach $25 so I could take advantage of the … [Read more...]
