Clean Grimy Kitchen Cabinets

Clean Grimy Kitchen Cabinets

Cleaning Grimy wood kitchen cabinets can be tricky because grease tends to build up in a kitchen environment and requires strong degreasers to remove.  Wood, unfortunately, doesn’t respond well to strong degreasers and can become damaged by some commercial degreasing products. The combination of Kitchen grease and dust are a lot easier and non damaging to your wooden cabinets with a homemade kitchen cabinet cleaner.

Products to Clean Grimy Kitchen Cabinets:
  • bucket
  • 4 cups of warm water
  • 2 tablespoons dish soap
  • ¼ cup cheap vodka
  • sponge and old toothbrush

Directions:
  1. Dip the sponge in the cleaning solution and scrub cabinets starting at the top and working your way down.
  2. Vodka helps to break up the grease and the dish soap to sweep it away.
  3. For particularly grimy areas, scrub with a toothbrush.
  4. After the surface of your wood cabinets have been degrimed, you’ll need to protect the wood.
  5. Use a olive oil, lemon and water mixture to create a wood polish. Mix a tablespoon of lemon, 2 tablespoons olive oil (grape seed oil will work too) and ¼ cup water.
  6. Shake the mixture vigorously and wipe on freshly cleaned cabinets, using circular motions to rub it in well.
