As if crescent rolls aren’t considered a happy bread already, I have a recipe that even makes the rolls smile. This is another one of those recipes that you can make to fit your own taste with no effort at all. Change the filling to suit your entree and holiday menus or your breakfast preferences.

 

At Thanksgiving I spread a small amount of spreadable cream cheese and a small amount of Pumpkin Pecan Butter on the rolls then process as directed on the package. I cooked them 2 min longer than the package instructs to make sure the dough inside cooks completely. I brushed them with a little melted buttery spread and let them cool. The next batch I made, I mixed the jam and cream cheese together in a bowl and discovered I preferred that method better.

Other Crescent Rolls Filling Ideas
  • Flavored cream cheese
  • Flavored spreadable cheese such as Alouette for beef or seafood
  • Applebutter/cream cheese for ham, pork chops or chicken
  • Cinnamon sugar/cream cheese for breakfast or evening tea
  • Peanut butter & Jelly
  • Finely diced ham or turkey with shredded cheese

As you can see, the possibilities are endless. Try adding a small amount of chopped nuts to add another dimension of flavor and texture.
