Coupons at Dollar Tree

As of this Sunday, August 26th, Dollar Tree stores nationwide will begin accepting manufacturer’s coupons. I have to be honest, I have never stepped inside of a Dollar Tree. We do have one that just opened in our town, but when I read that they didn’t accept coupons, I never made it a priority to go check it out. Guess I will be there Sunday morning with my Couponizer full! The best part about Dollar Tree is that they are a true dollar store, meaning nothing costs more than a dollar. Can you say free toothpaste, free makeup, free cleaning supplies?

Dollar Tree Coupon Policy:

  • Only two (2) print-at-home Internet coupons may be redeemed per transaction.
  • Retailer-specific coupons will not be accepted.
  • Cannot accept coupons for FREE items (without purchase) or BOGO coupons
  •  Coupons cannot be redeemed for cash at a later time (example: you forget to hand over your coupons, you cannot come back with them and receive cash for them later).
  • No overage: coupons cannot be redeemed for more than the purchase price of the item.
  • Only one (1) manufacturer’s coupon will be accepted per item.
  • Management has the right to refuse any coupon or otherwise limit quantities.

I am really looking forward to seeing what brands I can find really cheap or FREE! We already have heard that you can get Shredded Wheat cereal for FREE. For the full coupon policy, head over here to their website.

New to the Coupon-Wizards?

Are you new to The Coupon Wizards? I’m a one woman blog, but I work tirelessly, day in and day out, to find you the best deals. Both couponing deals and online bargains! This isn’t Extreme Couponing, it’s Effective Couponing! There is a method to my madness as well. Not only do I find sales & deals for you, but in doing so, I find sales & deals for me too. It’s a win win 😉 Plus I’m able to teach others to do this at the same time, which I love!

I started following The Coupon Wizards after doing some research on the subject, with a little prodding from a friend, and coming across them on Facebook. I was hooked immediately & started to learn quickly. Mostly out of necessity, but also because I loved everything about it. The organization, the researching, the putting together of deals, but most of all, the savings! I was saving my family money to pay those bills & be able to eat all at the same time. This blog was a life saver; literally! In no time at all, I was a blogger myself on the site. My husband has since found a job, but this is now mine and I love, love, love it and hope you will to. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Until next time, shop happy 😊

  1. I emailed them the other day for clarification on the “coupon can’t be redeemed for more than the purchase price” I asked if they would just take the coupon and only enter the amount of the item- or if it wouldn’t be taken at all? The response was that the coupon won’t be taken at all.

  2. I’m wondering if they’ll just put a limit on how many coupons a person can use (say 10 per shopping trip), or a maximum number of the same item you can buy. I think their policy is a bit vague, and from what I’ve read about the shopping trips people have had there, there’s going to be problems. I think it’s awesome they’re taking coupons, but I hope it works well for everyone!

    • Well….at my local Dollar Tree on Tuesday, this is how my trip went: walked aroundand finally ran across some Libbys veggies @ .79 each {use a lot of these} excited because there was a $1.00 off 4 copon from sunday. the only other thing i had to purchase was 2 boxes of beer bread {uumn} Alright, had 16 cans with 4 coupons…..reasonable amount of coupons for one transaction.. STOP !!! We dont take these kind of coupons bcause its not off of one item….{screams the cashier} SO I asked her what did She mean? and the reply was “If it was a $1.00 off of one item, we could take but since its for 4 items we cant! Soo, being the coupon queen I am, I calmly tried to explain how coupons work to her but to NO AVAIL UNTIL i ASKED FOR HER SUPERVISOR. She was just as coupon illiterate as the cashier was. So now I break out my dollar tree coupon policy and they were shocked.[LOL] didnt even know they had one….no where on there does it state no $ off multiples coupons!!! Sooo I then askedthe supervisor where that info she was stating came from and all she could say was “thats what our manager said” Well…..I told her he was mistaken also! At this point I am determinedto be correct and ask for a D.M/# to get this problem corrected. Ten minutes later, after her giving me a wrong number, but finding the number myself and the .D.M. returning my called after he made calls himself for clarification…I GOT MY VEGGIES!!!!Thanks to Refund Cents I have my binder set up with all my ammunition for battle {LOL} Dont know if I will shop there again for a while until they learn a little more coupon ettiquete…Thats my story,im sticking to it!!!
