Eating Healthy Doesn’t Have to Be Hard

eating healthy

Eating healthy does not mean going without your favorite foods or snacks. There are some very simple changes you can make and still eat the foods you like. Many people eat everything they like and simply take supplements, such as from ActivatedYou, to keep their body healthy. As long as you are eating a balanced diet and putting the right nutrients into your system, there is no need for crash dieting. Plus, crash dieting has a very negative effect on other elements of your body – not just your weight. For example, people’s skin can take a massive hit when not eating properly. Regardless of the great products you can get nowadays to give your skin the younger appearance that you want (such as from companies like beverly hills md), if you aren’t eating a balanced diet, your skin will suffer. I keep up on nutrition, food trends and what the ‘professionals’ say we should and should not do. I am over weight because I don’t eat enough. Yes you heard that right. Most days I eat twice a day and I eat very lean. My body reads that as starvation and holds on to everything I eat. I average 1000 calories a day. I should consume twice that.

What the Pros Say about Eating Healthy

The Pro’s tell us to eat 5 small meals a day. They are right. Eating 5 small meals a day keeps your metabolism working, therefore, burning the fat your body is storing. I am proof of this. It takes about 2 weeks for my body to respond, but once it does, I lose weight pretty fast and this is only from giving my body the fuel it needs to run efficiently. Eating healthy in little steps!

The calories you eat in those 5 meals are very important. By keeping it lean, fresh and consistent, you can be very successful without going hungry. Now I, like you, do not have the time to stop and eat 5 small meals everyday. I do however make time to eat 3 times a day and add 2 high protein low carb shakes into the mix. I buy EAS in powder form, add 1/2 fruit, 1/2 banana, 1 cup milk. This is usually my breakfast and snack somewhere in the day. I lost 8 lbs in 2 weeks by fueling my body correctly. You may also try out nutritional supplements or healthy reviewed protein shakes such as ProPlant Complete Shake or similar ones. But before you start consuming something, do the required research. For example, if you are planning to ahead of the ProPlant Shakes, then the first thing you may want to begin is with reading up the Proplant Complete ingredients and how it can be beneficial to your body, then you might need to check out reviews, ratings, and other related information. Many of us have a hard time following nutritious diets because our bodies are used to all the junk we put into it. Yes, it can be hard to resist those double cheeseburgers and fries, but it is essential that the intake of fast foods is reduced, if not eliminated entirely. The first step to a clean diet is getting the digestive system back to its optimal state and improving metabolism. Starting with a cleanse would be a good idea. You could also consider taking health supplements to support digestive activity, but not before doing a bit of research. Check out unify health supplement reviews or read up on any other supplements that you wish to start taking.

Painless Substitutions
  • Hamburgers ~ Replace ground beef with ground turkey. I add Lipton beefy onion to the meat and season the patty before I grill. Serve with a complex carb, low fat cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms, omit the bread and serve with a a veggie and salad. A favorite side of mine in grape tomatoes, mozzarella cubes tossed with Italian season, basil and olive oil.
  • Meatloaf ~ I make 1 4lb meatloaf and freeze 1/2 for another day. I use 1lb beef and 3 lbs turkey.
  • Chili ~ Use ground turkey. Check out my delicious recipe.
  • Pizza ~ Make your own with whole wheat crust, low fat meats like chicken sausage and low fat mozzarella.
  • Cook lean meats like skinless poultry and pork loin. Treat yourself with lean beef twice a month.
  • Cream ~ Replace cream in your dishes with fat free half and half. Use corn starch to thicken if need be.
  • Butter ~ Try Smart Balance instead. The ‘lite’ version does not melt well. I use the olive oil version.
  • Popcorn ~ I buy plain popcorn, I melt smart balance with garlic powder and sprinkle 1 Tbs Parmesan cheese on top. Sometimes I add chipolte chili to the smart balance or if I want a sweet treat I add 1 Tbs of agave instead. Once a week is a great treat.
  • Bread ~ Try not to eat more than once a week. Look for stone ground wheat, high fructose free.
  • Snacks ~ 10 Triscuits, low fat cheese or humus, fresh veggies or a piece of fruit is very healthy and satisfying. Keep a baggie of almonds or walnuts with you. Celery with peanut butter or low fat whipped cream cheese. Fresh veggies with low fat dressing, half an avocado or sliced tomato with tuna.
