Fireworks Safety Tips

The 4th of July, American flags and fireworks go hand in hand, but so should fireworks safety. The safest way to enjoy a fireworks show is to go view one that is professionally done, but if you want to put on your own show with friends and family, there are some valuable tips to keep in mind. We want everyone to have fun, but do it safely! Especially in the case of flags, catch a flag with a firework and it and your property could go up in flames! If you are one for flying the American flag often or just on the 4th of July, then make sure when looking for something similar to these fiberglass flagpoles for sale, to leave sufficient space between the pole installation and any firework display in the future.

First thing is to check with your city or county to make sure fireworks are legal where you live. Many cities and counties have laws where you can not set off fireworks within city limits.

Fireworks Safety Tips:
  • Always buy fireworks from an established retail outlet.
  • Always read and follow label directions.
  • Always have an adult present.
  • Only ignite fireworks outdoors in cleared areas away
from houses, cars, buildings, dry leaves, and flammable
  • Keep water handy for fires and emergencies.
  • Never experiment or attempt to make homemade
  • Never re-ignite malfunctioning fireworks; soak them
    in water and throw away.
  • Never give fireworks to small children.
  • Store fireworks in a cool, dry place.
  • Never throw fireworks at another person.
  • Wear eye protection when shooting fireworks.
  • After shooting them, soak fireworks in water before
    putting them in the trash.

This might look like a lot to remember, but it can save lives! We still want you to have fun, but also remember these basic fireworks safety tips! We love you all and we want to keep all of our Wiz Kids safe!

Additionally, remember that the 4th of July is a common day for burglaries to occur. With everyone outside in their backyard celebrating, it provides the perfect opportunity for thieves to break in through the front and steal your belongings. With the loud noise of fireworks going off, you won’t even hear the sound of breaking glass, so you’ll be completely oblivious to what’s going on just yards away. Wherever you’re celebrating in the world, make sure your home is fitted with a security alarm. Verisure monitored alarm systems, and other comparable systems, can alert you to a break-in the moment it happens. Security alarms also deter burglars from trying in the first place, but keep your windows and doors locked just in case.

From all of us at The Coupon Wizards, we hope you have a fun-filled day, but safe 4th Of July. While we are all BBQ-ing, celebrating, and having fun with friends and family, let us take a minute to remember the reason for this holiday.
