Army Morale

Today’s focus is directed at Army MWR ( Army Morale, Welfare and Recreation). This is a great program and MWR is offered at bases worldwide. We will talk a little about what MWR is, jobs they create and programs they offer. They are a fantastic program and deserve to have everyone’s support to keep on doing what they can!

Army Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, is a network of support and leisure services that enhances the lives of soldiers, civilians, families, military retirees and other eligible participants. MWR’s mission is to support Army Force Generation by enabling all Commanders, Region Directors, and installations to provide Family and MWR programs. With services that result in a quality of life to Soldiers and Families commensurate with their sacrifice and  service.

I can tell you that I personally worked for Navy MWR some years ago. It was a huge change coming from working in the civilian world to the military world. There was a lot to learn and I can say confidently that they were very patient and made sure that I knew my job. This is a great program for the military spouse to work for. As they are some of the very few who actually know what the military life entails. Your job is transferable with them all over the world. Can’t beat that! MWR headquarters staff is comprised of more than 500 Family and MWR professionals who provide support to Soldiers, Families and the more than 33,000 personnel who comprise the Family and MWR workforce, worldwide.

MWR programs have become extremely important. In these trying times of military families, these programs really do offer the ability to make things better. Army Morale, Welfare and Recreation programs, services and activities offer soldiers and families opportunities to enrich their lives culturally and creatively. They also relieve stress, build strength and resilience, and help the Army Family stay physically,  mentally, and financially fit.

So if you are looking for a job, something to do, or even a bit of help. Army MWR is a fantastic place to start. Find your local Army MWR office by visiting their website below.
