French Onion Chicken & Pasta

This French Onion Chicken and Pasta recipe has minimal, yet flavorful, ingredients. You can have this dish on the table in no time at all. Leftovers are freezer friendly and because this chicken and pasta recipe is so quick, it also makes a great pot-luck or party dish.

French Onion Chicken Ingredients
  • 3-4 ¬†chicken breasts, cut into bite size pieces
  • Italian flavored bread crumbs
  • 1 8 oz package sliced mushrooms
  • 1 can Campbell’s French Onion soup
  • 1 14 oz can beef broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 package ¬†corkscrew, penne or macaroni pasta
  • 2-3 TBSP Olive oil or canola oil for browning

  1. Start pasta water in a large pot, at the same time heat oil in a large non stick skillet.  (An electric skillet is perfect)
  2. Toss chicken in the bread crumbs, add to heated oil and brown. Don’t completely cook chicken and do not over crowd.
  3. Remove chicken to paper towel and repeat with next batch if necessary until all chicken is browned.
  4. Saute mushrooms until browned and discard any oil left in the pan.
  5. Add french onion soup, broth and water to the mushrooms.
  6. Bring to a simmer, add the chicken and cook about 6-8 minutes.
  7. Add cooked pasta and enjoy!
