Gorilla Bread

Gorilla Bread is a very easy recipe to make and is always a hit with company, the kids, potlucks and it’s perfect to serve alongside other snacks for any holiday or special occasion. Biscuits, cream cheese and butter are all freezer friendly, which makes it easy to keep the ingredients on hand if you need to whip up a sweet treat in a pinch. These are addictive!

Gorilla Bread Ingredients
  • 2 10-ct. cans plain buttermilk biscuits
  • 1 8-oz package brick cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup  sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 stick of butter  (or)  1/2c butter and 1/2c Smart Balance spread
  • 3 Tbs cinnamon (more or less to taste)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts nuts (optional)

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Mix cinnamon and white sugar  in a bowl, set aside.
  3. Melt butter and brown sugar over low heat until fully melted and combined.
  4. Cut cream cheese lengthwise then into 20 equal pieces.
  5. Flatten all  biscuits out a bit and lightly sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  6. Add 1 piece of cream cheese and fold dough around cheese forming a ball, seal completely.
  7. Place 1/2 cup chopped nuts into bottom of greased bundt pan or spring form pan, roll biscuits in remaining cinnamon sugar and line pan with one layer of biscuits, add more nuts and top with 2nd layer of biscuits.
  8. Pour melted butter/brown sugar over the top and bake for 30-45 minutes.
  9. Let cool and enjoy.
