My Big Y Haul

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

I love when Big Y runs their Buy 1, Get 2 free sale. That's the only way they get me to walk in their doors. They aren't a very coupon friendly store, (at least my location isn't) and their prices are very high, in my opinion. Smart Balance Milk Reg. $4.29, on sale $3.69 used $1.50/1 Smart Balance Milk Final Price: $2.19 (2) Cabot Cheese reg. $3.49, on sale $2 each used $1/2 Cabot products coupon (CommonKindness) Final Price: $1.50 each (2) International Delight creamers, … [Read more...]

Publix Shopping Trip

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

I'm not a big fan of buying pre packaged convenient food for two reasons. One, I can usually make it myself cheaper and two, I can make it without adding a bunch of who knows what added to it. One of my exceptions are the Hormel refrigerated entrees but only a a couple of them. I was able to buy these this week for $3.99. At this price it cheaper than the cost of the raw meat and cost of cooking it. The pork and beef roasts have less 'stuff' added to them and the sodium is acceptable. You can … [Read more...]

My Big Fat Raincheck Haul

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

If any of you don't have a raincheck file, you are leaving money out there. If I ever see a sale item out of stock, I always grab one. While I may not use it, it may be an item my mom or a friend uses. You never know when you may need it down the road. Every store I hit during my trip today I had rainchecks for. Multiple transaction between stores, and I came out with more than half of my weekly grocery budget left. There are no tricks - just smart shopping. Also, I can't stress enough to know … [Read more...]

My Shopping Trip Extravaganza I had a good shopping trip extravaganza this week considering I was getting low on a few things and the price of some items I've never tried before were low enough to take the risk and purchase. Turns out I love the Organix hair care line and I only paid $1.50 a bottle. The following shopping trip numbers do not include tax: BJ's Warehouse Total $41.75 ... OOP $27.05 ... Saved $14.70 = 37% 1  16 count Puffs tissues @ $12.99 Used (1) $4.50 SQ found in … [Read more...]

Target Shopping Trip for 2

After dinner last night, we headed out to Target for FREE folders and Stayfree products. I also wanted to pick us some almost-free glue for more homemade slime. We also needed cheese sticks and I decided to get them there since they each come with a $3 off $10 Crayola coupon and you get a FREE Giant Crayola coloring book when you buy 2. We used 2 carts and paid separately for our items due to limits on either coupons or Target. Total before coupons and free items: $45.06, Total OOP: … [Read more...]

Adjusting Your Shopping Trip on the Spot

Adjusting Your Shopping Trip Do you find yourself adjusting your shopping trip on the fly sometimes? It's gas card time at Publix again this week and I always make it a point to shop during these promos. Sometimes I spend less than I save on the gas cards and sometimes I don't. This week I didn't, but I had planned on shopping anyway. Have you ever noticed you run low on the expensive items at the same time? When I left to go shopping I expected to save about 38%. I made a conservative … [Read more...]

My Big Fat Glade Deal

My Glade Deal So, I've seen everyone talking about the Glade deal...and I haven't done one in a LONG time. We are finally out of all things scented though - my oil bulb things from Bath & Body Works are all gone, as are my Glade candles, so I've been on a hunt for them lately. I was happy to hear of the BOGO Glade coupons in the paper this past week and even more thrilled to find a Target printable for them as well! Our Price Chopper takes competitor coupons and there isn't anything in … [Read more...]

Admin Challenge Trip from Wizard Michele

Michele's Admin Challenge Trip My admin challenge trip didn’t start until Sunday. Unlike those go-getters that were out there Thursday morning, I didn’t have a chance to start shopping until Sunday. I was so hoping that everything I wanted would still be there. You know how it goes sometimes if you’re not there to get the deals within the first couple of days. First couple of hours in some cases. I was OK though; whew! Where to Begin My Admin Challenge Trip Thinking about my challenge … [Read more...]

Publix Savings – 95% Woo Hoo!

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

My Publix Savings Trip How did I get a 95% Publix savings? This actually has nothing to do with the challenge we admins were participating in this past week. This was just a regular shop I did this morning. You would think I was still amidst the challenge though wouldn't you? The highlights of my trip were free Advil, almost free Kraft Mac & Chz and making money on Bird's Eye Voila! and Olay. The details follow below, but all in all, I got $167.00 in groceries for $8.00. A 95% savings … [Read more...]

Quick Trip to Publix Yesterday we had a great shopping trip to Publix that resulted in $0.00 out of pocket for us. In addition, we had to score our Free Mac and Cheese at Walgreens. I love having relatives close to us to help us score printables! I want to be sure that I put a qualifying statement on this point. Make sure you check with your Publix store management as to how they handle Target competitor coupons. Many of the stores will require that you follow the rules on the original … [Read more...]

Legitimate Savings – Take That, TLC!

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

My Legitimate Savings Trip Do you have legitimate savings or are you "one of them?" I feel really bad for those who aren't serious couponers - those who want to get into it, and learn how to save money. I feel bad for them because they know nothing else other than "that show" on TLC. They say, "I want to do that." But they don't, not really. They want to save money, but I think 95% of them want to do it the right way. They don't realize that trips that are $2100 are NOT free, ever. They don't … [Read more...]

Shopping Trip to BJ’s

BJ's Shopping Trip I had a great BJ's shopping trip today. As with any store I shop at, I walk in with a list and a plan. Part of my plan is to scan the meat departments looking for in-store sales or markdowns. If the price meets my stockpile price then I buy it. I have a budget within a budget so to speak for groceries. Some weeks I just don't need very much so that gives me a little leeway in my grocery budget to take advantage of low meat prices when they come along which saves me money … [Read more...]

Publix Shopping Trip + Gas Cards

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

My Publix Shopping Trip When Publix runs their gas card promos I make it a point to take advantage of it with a Publix shopping trip. Luckily, I was able to score some deals on baggies as I let them dwindle down to 3 boxes waiting for a good sale so the timing this week was perfect for the few things I needed. The gas card deal is $10.00 off a $50.00 gas card with every $25.00 purchased. I also had (2) $5.00 off $30.00 or more Publix coupons so I had to get to $60.00 and save as much as I … [Read more...]

Membership Stores, Are They Worth It?

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

Are Membership Stores Worth It? Are membership stores worth it? I personally think so, however they have pros and cons just like any other store. I have a basic membership to BJ's and I shop there regularly, but only for certain items and they need to be at or close to my stockpile price. The products in the photo are not currently available at the prices listed below. I pulled them from my stockpile to show an example of deals I have gotten by stacking store and manufactures coupons. Can … [Read more...]

Small Stop At A Big Shop – Bj’s

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

Small Stop at BJ's We just joined BJ's about a month ago. I had said I had no interest in joining a warehouse store, because I got things cheaper with my couponing. Well, BJ's has coupons, and they accept manufacturer ones as well. So I thought I'd have a small stop at BJ's with some stacked coupons on a small trip and see how I fared. I think I did pretty good, since it's easy to go overboard there. First, BJ's has a little coupon booklet every couple of months. Then, there was a … [Read more...]

My Farm Fresh Trip My local Farm Fresh grocery store runs Super Doubles every few months and in the sale they will double coupons up to, and including, $2.00! The limit is 20 coupons per day and 2 like coupons per trip. The special Super Double event only runs today through Tuesday so I made sure to get up and get to the store as early as possible today. I overslept, and with the time change, got there about 8:30 a.m. and already a few of the freebies were gone, but I still did pretty good. … [Read more...]

Publix Italian Days Publix sales and matchups are something I look forward too every week, but the Publix Italian Days sale is one that I have been looking forward to for a year now. It's the perfect sale for an Italian home like mine. This is my one chance a year to stock up on items I use on a daily basis at rock bottom prices, allowing me to stockpile what I need to provide for my family for several months to come. The above photo was my trip from Feb. 2011. Total $146.02,  OOP $25.43, … [Read more...]
