My Publix CVS Shopping Trip

Publix CVS

Rain checks from both Publix CVS and rolling ECBs paid off for me this week. I had $33.00 in ECBs expiring before the next sales ad so I had to use them even tho I wasn’t thrilled with the prices of the products I bought. I did receive a $10.00 ECB back though.

CVS
  • 1 Duracell on sale $11.49 used $1/1 home mailer coupon, paid $10.49
  • 2 Charmin on sale $9.94 used (2) $.25/1 P&G coupon, paid $9.69 each
  • 12 Dawn dish soap on sale $.99 (rain check) used (12) $.75/1 P&G coupons, paid $.24 each

Total value $67.57 … Paid oop $1.31 … Saved $66.26 = 98%

I received a $10.00 ECB back on the Charmin/Duracell promo. I made 3 stops for the Dawn to stay within P&G’s coupon policy. I pass the store everyday so it didn’t cost me any additional gas.

My store prefers to write one rain check and adjust it as I go instead of write multiple rain checks. Ask your store manager what their preference is, but always make sure you get the quantity you want.

Publix
  • 10 Publix soda on sale 2/$1 (rain check), paid $.50 each
  • 4 Lou Ana canola oil BOGO $4.15, used (4) $.50/1 printable, paid $1.58 each
  • 4 Sargento cheese BOGO $3.99, used (2) $.55/2 peelie, paid $1.72 each
  • 4 International Delight 3/$5, used (4) $1.50/1 printable, paid $.17 each
  • 2 Olives on sale 3/$5, no coupons, paid $1.67 each
  • 1 Fresh salsa not on sale, paid $2.89
  • 1 Publix sour cream on sale 2/$3, paid $1.50
  • 1 Fresh Express on sale $1.69
  • 1 lime $.34

Total value $64.80 … Paid  oop $27.68 … Saved $37.12 = 58%

Publix CVS and Walmart have ALL told me they would rather I do one transaction instead of breaking them up or making several stops. So, what do I do? Follow my stores preference’s or P&G’s? I feel an email to P&G coming soon.

New to the Coupon-Wizards?

Are you new to The Coupon Wizards? I’m a one woman blog, but I work tirelessly, day in and day out, to find you the best deals. Both couponing deals and online bargains! This isn’t Extreme Couponing, it’s Effective Couponing! There is a method to my madness as well. Not only do I find sales & deals for you, but in doing so, I find sales & deals for me too. It’s a win win 😉 Plus I’m able to teach others to do this at the same time, which I love!

I started following The Coupon Wizards after doing some research on the subject, with a little prodding from a friend, and coming across them on Facebook. I was hooked immediately & started to learn quickly. Mostly out of necessity, but also because I loved everything about it. The organization, the researching, the putting together of deals, but most of all, the savings! I was saving my family money to pay those bills & be able to eat all at the same time. This blog was a life saver; literally! In no time at all, I was a blogger myself on the site. My husband has since found a job, but this is now mine and I love, love, love it and hope you will to. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Until next time, shop happy 😊

  1. On my last Publix trip, the cashier talked about how they were required to take a coupon class and now must read the fine print. If it says 4 limit..that’s what they will do now. He pointed out the coupon network fine print for the oil was addressed in the meeting. I did not realize it said one per purchase so I had to take those off. I was going to break it up but they still said no. I decided not to go back and get more since I am trying not to fry anyway.
