Day 7 of Spring Cleaning Challenge

Spring Cleaning

It’s that time of year again-Spring! When the last of the fall leaves finally come off of my tree in the front yard, the flowers start to bloom, the birds are chirping, the days are longer, and hopefully it’s getting warmer. Well I guess here in Indiana I’m still waiting on the getting warmer part! Then comes the thought of Spring cleaning. A thought that I push way to the back of my mind, but it still creeps back to the front.

I definitely want to do a good Spring cleaning, but just wasn’t sure where to start and then Wham! There the answer was in my email box. Home Made Simple sent me the solution. A 30 day Spring cleaning plan. Home Made Simple is a company owned by Proctor and Gamble. Their website has recipes, organization, crafts, decorating, DIY projects and more!

Monday April 1, 2013-Day 7

Nope it’s not an April Fools Joke! It’s time to clean out the closet and drawers in your bedroom. It’s time to go through things and make those hard decisions what to keep, sell, and/or donate. Do you need some new closet organization, or some new bins to make it look organized?  Do you need better shoe storage? How about those drawers-What’s in the way back that we have been avoiding for while? Time to go through everything and get it reorganized.

Spring Cleaning Tips and Tricks

Here are some great closet cleaning tips from Home Made Simple. Also go ahead and check out their tips for cleaning the drawers in your bedroom. These are hard tasks for us women! It’s hard to get rid of things either we hope to fit into later, or just don’t want to part with. Haha! I always go by the rule if I haven’t worn it in a year than it goes to donate or sell.

Home Made Simple always says this is a great time to pack away your winter apparel. (That is if it’s done snowing where you’re at!) This time of year I wash all the hats and gloves and put them back in our Winter box. I may hold off on this one here in Indiana for a few more weeks. Looks like we have some cold snaps to look forward to still.

Day Six Progress

So how did you do on cleaning the basement. I skipped over the basement since it’s mostly my hubby’s things and I replaced it with cleaning my laundry room out. My grocery stockpile is there along with a closet for cleaning supplies and coats. It took me awhile, but I got everything dusted, reorganized, and cleaned out. I even got rid of some things too! I ended with giving the washer and dryer a good cleaning on the outside and then swept and mopped. Now it’s ready for flip flops and beach bags!
