Day 6 of Spring Cleaning

spring cleaning

It’s that time of year again-Spring! When the last of the fall leaves finally come off of my tree in the front yard, the flowers start to bloom, the birds are chirping, the days are longer, and hopefully it’s getting warmer. Well I guess here in Indiana I’m still waiting on the getting warmer part! Then comes the thought of Spring cleaning. A thought that I push way to the back of my mind, but it still creeps back to the front.

I definitely want to do a good Spring cleaning, but just wasn’t sure where to start and then Wham! There the answer was in my email box. Home Made Simple sent me the solution. A 30 day Spring cleaning plan. Home Made Simple is a company owned by Proctor and Gamble. Their website has recipes, organization, crafts, decorating, DIY projects and more!

Saturday March 30, 2013-Day 6

Time to clean and de-clutter the basement. Time to purge, donate, clean, organize and get that basement organized! Our basement is my husbands “man cave” so to speak. Currently, the basement is a little bit bare and I’ve been thinking about contacting the best company specializing in Basement Renovations New Jersey has to offer, or maybe somewhere more local, so that we could turn it into a proper “man cave” with maybe a small bar tucked in the corner. My husband’s hobby is model trains and our whole basement is a model train layout. Our two cats spend most of their time down there too. The only things I have in the basement are our Christmas/Seasonal decor in storage bins. Thankfully I go through those every year. Although I think I may venture down there to make sure I don’t have any unorganized bins and such. I think I will definitely bring the Swiffer down there and at least get the cob webs and such. It will make me feel better!

Day Three Progress

Are your attics sparkling clean? Well maybe that’s a stretch. How about less dusty and a little more organized? If you didn’t have an attic to clean were you able to check off something else on your list? Since my attic is empty I had “clean the minivan” on my list today. Boy did it feel great to get that done! I used the small shop-vac to get it all vacuumed out, then used glass cleaner and some multi-surface cleaner to clean the rest of it. At the end I put in my new “Sun and Sand” air freshener. I feel like my van took a deep breath and said, “thanks I feel better!”
