Day Three of Spring Cleaning Challenge

Spring Cleaning Windows

It’s that time of year again-Spring! When the last of the fall leaves finally come off of my tree in the front yard, the flowers start to bloom, the birds are chirping, the days are longer, and hopefully it’s getting warmer. Well I guess here in Indiana I’m still waiting on the getting warmer part! Then comes the thought of Spring cleaning. A thought that I push way to the back of my mind, but it still creeps back to the front.

I definitely want to do a good Spring cleaning, but just wasn’t sure where to start and then Wham! There the answer was in my email box. Home Made Simple sent me the solution. A 30 day Spring cleaning plan. Home Made Simple is a company owned by Proctor and Gamble. Their website has recipes, organization, crafts, decorating, DIY projects and more!

Wednesday March 27, 2013-Day 3 of Spring Cleaning

Time to clean those windows and screens, whether you have beautiful custom windows or were perfectly content with the windows your home came with. Oh, and yes they really mean clean them inside AND out! Home Made Simple also gives a great tip to flip your mattress or mattresses at this time too!

Tips and Tricks

Check out some tips on cleaning the inside and outside of your windows. Personally I don’t mind cleaning the windows, but this time of year I do the outside too. That can be challenging. Fortunately I have the windows that unlock and tip inward so I can clean most of them from the inside. For my picture window and patio door I use the Windex Outdoor All-In-One Cleaner. It works really good and the wand extends all the way up so I don’t have to use a ladder. Also, check to see if the windows are in good condition and free of damage. If necessary, replacement of windows could be done, which might improve the overall appearance of the house. It might be worth contacting an experienced company like https://durangowindowsdoors.com/ or asking close friends for reliable recommendations for window replacement.

Day Two Progress

So how did you do on cleaning the ceiling fans? I only have two ceiling fans, so it wasn’t too bad. The hardest part was balancing myself so I didn’t fall. One of my fans is in our bedroom and I have to stand on the water bed. That was a bit of a challenge, but I got it done! Also we only have water beds here, so no mattress flipping for me!
