Day 21 of Spring Cleaning Challenge

spring cleaning

It’s that time of year again-Spring! When the last of the fall leaves finally come off of my tree in the front yard, the flowers start to bloom, the birds are chirping, the days are longer, and hopefully, it’s getting warmer. Well, I guess I’m still waiting on the getting warmer part! Then comes the thought of Spring cleaning. A thought that I push way to the back of my mind, but it still creeps back to the front.

I definitely want to do a good Spring cleaning, but just wasn’t sure where to start and then Wham! There the answer was in my email box. Home Made Simple sent me the solution. A 30 day Spring cleaning plan. Home Made Simple is a company owned by Proctor and Gamble. Their website has recipes, organization, crafts, decorating, DIY projects and more!

Monday April 15, 2013 Day Twenty-One

Today’s Spring Cleaning Challenge is to clean your bathrooms. This is definitely not one of my favorite things to clean. In fact over the last year, I have been slowly teaching my eleven-year-old son to clean it. I usually have to go in after him and clean again, but hey he’s learning!

Spring Cleaning Tips and Tricks

Cleaning out the bathroom isn’t the most glamorous of the Spring cleaning jobs, but it has to be done. Along with the basic cleaning, you might want to get those small pipe leakages that have been there forever fixed too. You could either try your luck fixing it yourself or consider hiring Plumbing Services near your area.
Once that’s been done, clean out your drawers and cabinets too. Here are some tips on cleaning the bathroom sink as well as some tips on cleaning the shower. I bought some new Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner, so I want to see how good it works in the shower. Also, it’s a good idea to dust off or wipe down any shelving and decor you have in your bathroom. A lot of times those get overlooked.

This is a great time to re-organize and re-evaluate things in the bathroom. Maybe it’s time for some new bathroom organization. Look at how your things are arranged and make sure you have a place for everything. One of my favorite things in my bathroom is my Bath and Body Works collection. I only shop there when they have their clearance sales, but I end up getting a good amount of product for a great price. I love to have my lotions out for guests when they are at my home, but couldn’t figure out a way to display them all. My friend found a giant seashell at a garage sale and gave it to me for my bathroom. I can fit all my lotions inside and it matches my beach theme! You don’t always need something brand new. Sometimes you can re-purpose something from another part of your house to fit your needs. Extra baskets or decorative bowls can easily be used in a bathroom for storage.

Day Twenty Progress

Yesterday’s challenge should have been pretty easy. I completed the challenge here and got all my counter-tops and cabinets wiped down. I actually re-organized on day nineteen when I cleaned out my cabinets. That meant I didn’t have to do that yesterday. Did you find a better way to organize things? Doesn’t it make you feel better to keep checking these tasks off the list? It makes me even happier that we are getting close to the end of this Spring Cleaning Challenge!!
