Day 23 Spring Cleaning Challenge

spring cleaning

It’s that time of year again-Spring! When the last of the fall leaves finally come off of my tree in the front yard, the flowers start to bloom, the birds are chirping, the days are longer, and hopefully, it’s getting warmer. Well, I guess here in Indiana I’m still waiting on the getting warmer part! Then comes the thought of Spring cleaning. A thought that I push way to the back of my mind, but it still creeps back to the front.

I definitely want to do a good Spring cleaning, but just wasn’t sure where to start and then Wham! There the answer was in my email box. Home Made Simple sent me the solution. A 30 day Spring cleaning plan. Home Made Simple is a company owned by Proctor and Gamble. Their website has recipes, organization, crafts, decorating, DIY projects and more!

Wednesday April 17, 2013-Day Twenty-Three

Today’s Spring Cleaning Challenge is to grab your steam cleaner and steam clean your carpets and area rugs. It’s time to hit those dank and dirty carpets! If you don’t have a steam cleaner, consider renting one or borrowing one from a friend for cheap. Trust me it’s well worth it. The cleaning they do is often thorough and deep, even professional carpet cleaning Phoenix companies use them. If that doesn’t convince you then I don’t know what will.

I love getting the carpet steam cleaned. I usually steam clean them once a year around this time. I will be putting today’s challenge off until the end of the school year. It’s a very time-consuming job and I am not home long enough during the day to get it all done. One of my friends suggested that I could hire professionals from firms like Carpet Cleaning Pros to get the job done. I’ve kept the suggestion in the back of my mind, in case of an emergency. When I am ready to steam clean the carpets I will rent one from one of our local grocery stores. You can rent them for a certain number of hours and it’s very convenient.

If you have area rugs, especially shaggy rugs, make sure to steam clean them or clean them according to their cleaning specifications. If you are not doing today’s challenge, try and pick something from the list you made on day one. Over the next couple of days I am going to be washing my windows. I put them off at the beginning because it was so cold. Now it’s warmed up so I plan on getting those done. Good luck with today’s challenge!

Spring Cleaning Day Twenty-Two Progress

Did you get your carpet and hardwood floors vacuumed? Were you able to bleach the grout on your bathroom and kitchen floors? All the carpets are vacuumed here and I swept and mopped the kitchen and bathroom floors since I don’t have grout. Another day checked off!
