Day 28 Spring Cleaning Challenge

spring cleaning

It’s that time of year again-Spring! When the last of the fall leaves finally come off of my tree in the front yard, the flowers start to bloom, the birds are chirping, the days are longer, and hopefully it’s getting warmer. Well I guess here in Indiana I’m still waiting on the getting warmer part! Then comes the thought of Spring cleaning. A thought that I push way to the back of my mind, but it still creeps back to the front.

I definitely want to do a good Spring cleaning, but just wasn’t sure where to start and then Wham! There the answer was in my email box. Home Made Simple sent me the solution. A 30 day Spring cleaning plan. Home Made Simple is a company owned by Proctor and Gamble. Their website has recipes, organization, crafts, decorating, DIY projects and more!

Monday April 22, 2013 Day Twenty-Eight

Today’s Spring Cleaning Challenge is to rake any leftover leaves from the fall. It’s time to get the yard ready for all the Spring and Summer blooms that are coming! Mine have just started to bloom. They were a little delayed with the cold start to Spring here.

Spring Cleaning Tips and Tricks

The tree that is in my yard doesn’t lose all of it’s leaves until Spring. This last fall the top half of the leaves fell, but the leaves on the bottom half of the tree just fell off over the last couple of weeks. Until last fall I would go out and use the leaf blower, and rake¬†all of the leaves from the yard. Then my hubby got an attachment for our riding mower that picks up the leaves. It’s truly heaven! Haha! I still need to get out and rake the leaves out of the flower beds and put some more mulch down.

Home Made Simple has some great tips for outdoor chores. While you’re outside it’s a good time to wipe down your lawn chairs, clean up the garage, clean out your vehicle, get fertilizers and/or grass seed ready to apply, etc. What are you waiting for? Head outside to spruce up your lawn, and just think, we’re almost at the end of the challenge!

Day Twenty-Seven Progress

How did the toy cleaning go? Were you able to get them all cleaned? Did you hold any “toy car washer?” We went through the toys here and we got them cleaned. The outdoor toys will have to wait until it’s warmer out. It’s supposed to be warmer here today, we may hit 60! When it warms up I’m going to have a good size list of things to do, but it will be warm and sunny so that will make it easier!
