Kool Aid Playdough I enjoyed making kool aid playdough for my kids! I have tried many different kinds of playdough recipes and this is the only one that comes out perfect for me every time. I also like knowing that I can pronounce all of the ingredients and that it is safe to eat although not very tasty. This was my first time using Kool-Aid for color and the kids loved all of the fruity scents.  I have tried some of the non-cook recipes before and was not pleased with the texture. Our Family Fun Activity featured turning a Gingerbread House Kit into a Gingerbread Haunted House (as seen here) for Halloween. The kids had a blast making this eerie (and messy) house. Earlier in the week, I had to make an unplanned shopping trip for Halloween-themed candies. You see, I bought the kids a couple of Gingerbread House kits at Costco (to decorate next month). Get your Disney Parks Vacation Planning DVD (NLA). Going during the … [Read more...]

Jelly Belly Factory Did you know that you can visit companies that offer tours for FREE? This week, I took the kids to the Jelly Belly Factory Tour in Fairfield, CA. Aside from being free, we received free samples and learned the process of making delicious Jelly Belly Beans. We went to Jelly Belly on a weekday, when the factory was in full swing and operational. You can still take the free tour on weekends, you just miss out on seeing the candy making process in person. As we walked … [Read more...]

San Francisco's Golden Gate Park There is no better way to kick off summer than at San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The park is 1,013 (3 miles long by ½ mile wide) acres and the 3rd largest park to be visited. Living in the East Bay of San Francisco is the hub of great family outings, for as little as gas in the car and a picnic lunch, you can take tours of the greatest places on earth. San Francisco is diverse in cultures; arts, music, festivals, museums, street fairs, entertainers, and … [Read more...]
