What are The Coupon Wizards Webinars and What Can I Expect?

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

People ask me all the time: "What are the Coupon Wizards Webinars?" so I decided I would finally take a few minutes and write a quick post about them. One of the things that I decided when I launched The Coupon Wizards in January 2011 was that I wanted our page to be different. I wanted it to be more a family or community than just a page that spit out information but was never around when it was time to answer questions. To this end, I began to develop a series of live, online training sessions … [Read more...]

This is by far one of the best Snickers Cheesecake recipes I have ever had with or without the Snickers. nutritional info CRUST | FILLING | TOPPINGS Snickers Cheesecake Full Ingredient List (broken … [Read more...]

How My Stockpile Saved Us In A Rough Patch

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

How My Stockpile Saved Us In A Rough Patch One of the things you will learn here at The Coupon Wizards is  building a stockpile of what your family uses. Find your items at rock bottom prices and create a stockpile big enough to last 3 months until the next sale cycle to save the most money. But, what about when you fall on a rough patch and just can't afford to go to the store each week? About 3 1/2 weeks ago, my husband had some medical issues and has been on medical leave from work. We … [Read more...]

Pay Your Children in Their Currency

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

Teaching children about money can be as easy or as difficult as you make it. One thing that I have learned from raising my boys is that I need to pay them in the currency that they desire and understand. To clarify, Grayson understands money. He has been able to figure simple sales tax since he was 5 and he knows what it means to work for a dollar. He understands that he needs to save. He understands that he needs to make good decisions with his spending money. He understands that he is going to … [Read more...]

Something happens to us as we age. We get soft. No, not around the middle, in our minds. In certain areas of our lives, we lose our edge. I realize that this is a blanket statement so this article will not apply to everyone. However, I do feel like there is something to be gained by all who continue reading. Recently, I have started getting up earlier than normal and getting my workout in before the sun comes up. Not only do I feel better for the rest of the day, but I actually have the whole … [Read more...]

Shopping for Cars Tip #3 – Hot Lease Terms are Your Best Friend!

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

Before you start going ballistic sending me emails and commenting, please read this entire article. If you have ever heard me speak, you know that I think that leasing a vehicle is one of the absolute worst financial decisions you can make. It falls right in line with having a car payment in my book. In fact, it's worse because you aren't really paying down any debt, you are perpetuating it! However, by and large people will do what society dictates, so leases will not be going away anytime … [Read more...]

Shopping for Cars Tip #2 – New to you is as Good as New

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

Shopping for cars can be fun. The anticipation of finally replacing that old clunker is exhilarating. If you followed our advice in Shopping for Cars Tip #1 and have been patient, the reward will very much be worth the wait. The next tip is really quite simple and very straightforward: Buy used vehicles. I am sure that you have heard the cliche that a car depreciates 30% the minute you drive it off the lot. It's honestly not too far from the truth. Once a new car is driven, it's no longer new. I … [Read more...]

Chili Cheese Dip

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

This Chili Cheese Dip is a recipe that my wife's family has had during football games for as long as she can remember.  I remember the first football game that I watched with her family, everyone was excited for the Chili Cheese Dip as the game started.  I remembered thinking, "What's so special... it's a dip!"  It tastes best when cooked in the crockpot, but if you are in a rush you can do it quickly on the stove top as well. Chili Cheese Dip w/ Tortilla Chips Cook in a crock pot 4 … [Read more...]

Shopping for Cars Tip #1 – Patience Pays Off

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

I have heard the statistics and they are astounding. The majority of people that are shopping for cars will purchase a vehicle within 48 hours of stepping onto the lot the first time. I must admit, I am not helping that statistic any, but it's for a good reason. I don't go to the lot until I am absolutely ready to buy. I think sometimes we purchase cars out of necessity or self-entitlement instead of taking our time to be sure we are buying "value". It's a proven fact that at some point, your … [Read more...]

Slow Cooker Chicken Salsa is one of my families 'Go To' recipes that we eat a couple times a month.  There are a lot of little twist/additions, etc that you can do with it to change it up some, but it always has that same great taste.  Like all Slow Cooker Recipes, it's a start it and leave it process, so we still can have a healthy dinner even on our most hectic week nights.   Slow Cooker Chicken Salsa with Rice Cook in a crock pot 6-8 hours on low 3 Chicken … [Read more...]

Laundry Detergent Tablet Storage

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

I recently purchased  several bags of laundry detergent tablets and the bags take up a lot of room in my stockpile so I came up with this idea. The milk container is sturdy enough to hold up, I have easy access to the tabs in my laundry room cabinet and it holds 92 tablets allowing me to toss 5 bags. Wash the milk container and let dry thoroughly. Cut a large enough hole near the bottom to fill with tablets. You can remove them easily, the tablets are a little sticky … [Read more...]

Homemade Tuscan Rub

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

I prefer making my own rubs like this Tuscan rub herb blend. I grow all my own herbs because  it’s crazy what stores charge for some of them and considering how much I use it's far more cost effective to grow them. Once my herbs are dry I grind them in a coffee grinder or bullet blender. You do not want to get the rub wet  or it could cause mold or mildew so make sure there is no moisture inside your grinder. If you don’t have the ability to use fresh herbs you can still use dried … [Read more...]

Start Stockpiling Efficiently & Effectively

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

When I first started my coupon journey on The Coupon Wizards Facebook page, I kept hearing the word stockpile. When I thought of the word stockpile, my first thought was weapons and ammo. I can understand why most of you are probably thinking "Why would she think of weapons and ammo, is she crazy?" The answer is no, I'm not crazy. I always associated the word stockpile with both weapons and ammo because I heard it so many times when I was in the Army. As the saying goes, "Once a soldier, always … [Read more...]
