Valentine Coasters

Valentine Coasters are a great gift to give to Grandparents , teachers or even school friends for Valentine’s Day.  We are using a salt dough recipe to create the coasters.  This simple dough recipe is easy to prepare, frugal and the ingredients so common you’ll most likely have them all sitting in your pantry.  Make these a few days in advance of when you want to give them away so that they can dry properly and come out perfectly.

Valentine Coaster Supplies:

Valentine Coaster Ingredients:
  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ cup salt
  • ½ cup water
  1. Mix flour salt and water together.
  2. Knead dough 5-6 minutes to incorporate salt. Graininess will disappear. Texture will become soft and pliable.
  3. Roll dough to ¼ inch thickness on parchment paper. Cut out shape.
  4. Lightly press stamps into dough.
  5. Leave to dry overnight or bake several hours at 200 degrees.
  6. Coat with Mod Podge Sealant for water resistance

These Salt Dough Valentine coasters can be painted or you can add glitter  or jewels to fancy them up. You can also use Food coloring in your dough to make pink coasters as well. If you don’t want to make coasters simply add a round magnet and you can put your salt dough Valentine’s day creation on a fridge or poke a hole to make it hang. Give this salt dough Valentine’s craft a try and be creative with your coasters.

This isn’t Extreme Couponing, it’s Effective Couponing! There is a method to my madness as well. Not only do I find sales & deals for you, but in doing so, I find sales & deals for me too. It’s a win win 😉 Plus I’m able to teach others to do this at the same time, which I love!

I started following The Coupon Wizards after doing some research on the subject, with a little prodding from a friend, and coming across them on Facebook. I was hooked immediately & started to learn quickly. Mostly out of necessity, but also because I loved everything about it. The organization, the researching, the putting together of deals, but most of all, the savings! I was saving my family money to pay those bills & be able to eat all at the same time.
