Valentines Day Treat Skewers

These Valentines Day Treat Skewers are a colorful, festive way to serve a semi-healthy treat to your friends and family. Use your favorite store-bought cookie or brownie as the base for the skewers, and add marshmallows and fresh fruit to them. Drizzling melted chocolate over the skewers is an easy and elegant way to dress them up after you’ve skewered the ingredients.

Valentines Day Skewers Ingredients:
  • 12 miniature cookies or brownies
  • 12 jumbo marshmallows
  • 12 fresh strawberries
  • 12 skewers
  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Valentines Day Skewers Directions:
  1. Skewer the cookies/brownies, marshmallows, and fresh strawberries onto the skewers with one of each ingredient on each skewer.
  2. Fill a small pot halfway with water and place over medium heat. Bring the water to a boil.
  3. Put the chocolate chips into a metal or glass bowl, and hold the bowl over the boiling water to slowly melt the chocolate chips. Do not let the bowl rest on the boiling water, but rather use the steam to warm the bowl, which will then melt the chocolate chips.
  4. Stir the chips occasionally, until the chocolate has completely melted.
  5. Drizzle the chocolate over the skewers.
  6. Let the drizzled chocolate on the skewers cool and harden, then serve.

This isn’t Extreme Couponing, it’s Effective Couponing! There is a method to my madness as well. Not only do I find sales & deals for you, but in doing so, I find sales & deals for me too. It’s a win win 😉 Plus I’m able to teach others to do this at the same time, which I love!

I started following The Coupon Wizards after doing some research on the subject, with a little prodding from a friend, and coming across them on Facebook. I was hooked immediately & started to learn quickly. Mostly out of necessity, but also because I loved everything about it. The organization, the researching, the putting together of deals, but most of all, the savings! I was saving my family money to pay those bills & be able to eat all at the same time.
