Here’s my latest Weighing in Wednesday update. Since I started working out, I’ve gotten a lot of encouragement and advice from friends, family and co-workers. It’s been great. There is one statement that I’ve heard from a few people that I don’t get… “once you get over being sore from working out you’ll love it.” Um…. Hate to break it to you, but not going to happen. I will never be one of those people that loves to work out. I will always do it because I have to.

Weighing in Wednesday Results

Don’t get me wrong, I like the results I’m getting. I have more energy, I haven’t been getting sick the last few weeks and I wore a pair of jeans the other day that were previously to snug to be comfortable. I’ve also noticed I’m sleeping better, but I don’t know if it’s because I’m working out or that I get up at 4:45 am to go work out.

I was reading an article the other day that stated….

Endorphin’s also trigger a positive feeling in the body, similar to that of morphine. For example, the feeling that follows a run or workout is often described as “euphoric.” That feeling, known as a “runner’s high,” can be accompanied by a positive and energizing outlook on life.

Yeah that hasn’t happened. I starting to think the endorphin thing is either a myth or I don’t possess them. If I felt that way after, I’d probably do it 7 days a week. I hope this article didn’t come across as me being a “Debbie downer” about the whole thing. I’m just realistic in my views. I’m still at it and determined to keep going.

  1. I applaud you for your commitment. I, too, am someone who doesn’t “love” working out and I don’t get the endorphins either. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, I don’t get it. Anyway, great job. Staying motivated is my biggest issue 🙁

    I love working out, but I don’t do heavy and hard due to health issues maybe that’s why I love it, lol

    I do NOT get those endorphins either but I do have a lot of energy. I do NOT sleep any better however workouts or not.

    You don’t sound like a Debbie Downer, you’re stating reality. That helps a lot of people that want to give up when they don’t experience all the feelings they are always led to believe they are going to feel. Keep it up 🙂
